One support crew member is seeking ultramarathon runners signed up for 50K, 50M, 100K and/or 100M races.
ULTRARUNNER / ULTRAMARATHONER
Responsibilities may include:
- Waking up before 5am to get your miles in before work
- Battling chafing, constantly
- Familiarity with amazing/awful ice baths, the newest caffeine-laced nutrition gel and which type of water bottle lid works best under different environments
- Foam rolling, swearing while rolling is permitted
- Running the same route over and over because finding a new route for your long runs is asking a lot
Specific qualifications include:
- Your stomach knows no bounds. You can eat. And eat. And eat…
- You have lost toenails, or know people who have
- You get upset when you can’t run
- You and your GPS watch have a complicated relationship
- You have been known to plan your day around your run

SUPPORT CREW MEMBER
Responsibilities may include:
- Being your ultrarunner’s primary cheerleader, race day adviser and aide
- Understands how to read a map with or without satellites (cell service is not a given)
- You are a gear checklist guru. Your motto is: Preparation is salvation on the trail.
- Knowing what food your ultramarathoner needs (because you asked ahead of time! Eureka!)
Specific qualifications include:
- Knows First Aid/CPR and isn’t afraid of blackened, bloody or missing toenails
- Being one of the reasons a runner looks forward to getting to an aid station with crew access
- A good communicator with said ultrarunner, family and friends who need updates on race day and other event participants and their crew
